Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning

We always avoid the unimaginable fact that we are not promised forever, and at some point, we might not be here anymore.  Generally, people have a tendency to ignore this fact of life, and a death occurs and it is too late to plan.  Spouses, children and family are left to realize they do not have the appropriate testamentary documents in place to deal with the assets of their late deceased loved ones. It is essential that we face this all too often avoided topic with a sense of control, power, and peace of mind, rather than the common emotions surrounding the issue.  Preparing a Will or Trust is an opportunity to take control of your assets and belongings, and to have the power  to know and decide how your property will be disbursed to others after your death. There is peace of mind in knowing how you will provide for your loved ones in a catastrophic event and/or death.

By writing a Will or devising a Trust, you have the opportunity to express your desires with regard to your personal belongings and assets after death, before it is too late to decide. By devising an Estate Plan, we can help eliminate the confusion about your belongings for those who succeed you after death. We have helped many clients prepare for the worst by devising Estate Plans, and we can help give you the same peace of mind.

As part of the Estate Planning Strategy for clients, we commonly prepare all or a combination of the following sets of documents:

  • Testamentary Wills

  • Living Wills

  • Pour Over Wills

  • Family Trusts

  • Durable Powers of Attorney

  • Advance Directives

  • Spousal Powers of Attorney
